Videotaped Public Information Meetings
First two meetings held on June 27, third meeting set for August
Two public information meetings regarding the draft operating order for the Rest Lake Dam in Vilas County were held on Friday, June 27. Both sessions were videotaped and are available for online viewing through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The two June meetings along with a third set for Saturday, August 16, have been organized by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to give citizens a chance to learn more and provide feedback on the dam’s future operations. The draft order seeks to balance environmental, recreational, and long-term economic interests while restoring a more natural flow and extending the navigation season with more consistent water levels.
The Manitowish town hall is the site that was used for the informational meetings on June 27. It will also be the location for the August 16th meeting that will run from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
